I remember that place ... that's one place I *never* dared to set foot in. And me staying at the Albert. Heh. Glad to hear somebody did something with it. Also kind of saddened in that there was a NEED for SRO's, but they were always such dumps. Like the Grand Concourse at 161st. :)Spent a LOT of time at the latter since a number of UHF "translator transmitters" I took care of many years ago were up on the roof there. Whatta dump! But what I'm saying is there's no excuse for The Penn and The Mildew Plaza being the messes they are. :( |
