It's funny how modern architecture, an opposition to types such as the Hotel Penn, are often built in their translucent forms to provide a great view of surrounding old buildings as a backdrop for those inside, but have little or no aesthetic value of their own. An example is London's Scotland Yard Building which provides an excellent view of Parliament from many of its offices (as a backdrop), but aside from that rotating sign is quite bland. |
