I completely disagree with the Empty-yay over a "self-defense" argument and someone on the train stabbing customers in your face, but if they'd rather be sued over doing nothing, who am I to argue? After all, when you got sworn in, you became a "public officer" and technically granted "police powers" in a sense ... but leave it to the lawyers who are unlikely to ever be in such a situation to rule differently. Needless to say, if them's the rules and I can't protect myself or my passengers with a reasonable amount of force in a dire situation, then I don't think I want to work there again. :( |
