Fear of transit workers was its own attitude adjustment. Most people didn't even want to put themselves in the position of finding out what might happen, so such incidents were rare. Of course, back then you didn't mess with cops either since the paperwork wasn't worth their time. They'd just sit you in the back seat, take you around the block, beat the qwap out of you and then ask you if you wanted to file a complaint. :) |
