I can tell you the exact trigger point of the Bronx going to chit ... wasn't so much the Cross Bronx (that was the final insult) ... it was the building of CO-OP CITY and a large portion of the populace of the south Bronx relocating to there, and those who couldn't afford to buy in inherited the remains. With so many vacant apartments, the south Bronx went straight into the dumper.
