The closing of the lower Myrtle (MJ) was also a major factor in the destruction of downtown Brooklyn. As was the case with the Third Avenue El in the Bronx in destroying "The Hub" as a shopping mecca for borough residents. There were a lot of things aside from the highways that contributed to the "malaise" of both boroughs. |
