Back when I was still working for the TA over 10 years ago, there was a proposal to electrify the leads and add some tracks to Linden Yard for storage of #3 trains since it was realized that sooner or later all the trains on the IRT would be composed of 10 car trains composed of 5 car units and Lenox would eventually not be able to run 9 car trains. With the use of 137 St Yard for some of the #3 service, that plan was at best deferred, and at worst cancelled entirely. It would be a good idea though. |
