Slattery Plaza is the old name of the station area...When the LIE was constructed along the HH corridor, Slattery Plaza effectively was destroyed.I've read elsewhere -- no citations available, just memory -- that Slattery Plaza is the name of the grade separation at Queens & Woodhaven Boulevards. John R. Slattery was Deputy Chief Engineer of the BoT from 1925 until his death in 1932. |
