Multitasking is what New Yorkers do - when I rode the subway daily for work I would take my coffee on the train (the type with the little slit in the cover)... I was always in a rush with less than a minute to spare for anything let alone breakfast. At the time I was working and taking classes at night - getting home very late only to have to do homework for the next night - by the time I got to bed I was barely able to wake up in the morning in time to get dressed to leave for work. Drinking a SUPER-LARGE cup of coffee "on the way" was the only way that I was able to wake up by the time I got to the office. If I did not get a chance to get coffee before arriving at the office I would be groggy, sleepy, and with severe pounding headaches all morning. Even though I no longer have that schedule and get a LOT more sleep I still get severe headaches if I do not drink at least two large cups of coffee in the morning.Too bad they didn't have intravenous caffeine shots - I could have used it back then :-) |
