I remember the els off quite often on the R42's that ran on the M (they mixed a few in on the M, which had every 60 foot car available (except the R10s) on it.I remember sometimes being on trains that were completely dark, and you didn't even know you were in a station until the doors opened, because all the graffiti on all the windows blocked out all the light from when the train left the tunnel and into the station. And announcements? Hahahaha, you were on your own. And on the elevated stations (and even the tiled stations sometimes), you didn't even know what station you were at because all the walls and signs were graffitied over often times. |
