I don't know how MTA does their picks so I don't know whether it is possible to get full time work from day 1. It's usually not possible. If you don't know, why are you answering? And answering wrong, as well. Most likely more than that. Motorpeople get paid about $25-$30 per hr; bottom on the seniority list you might get about 20-30 hrs/week -- that's $32,500 per annum -- but that's only for part-time work. There is no such thing as a starting salary; if you are somehow able to get full time work as soon as you sign up, your salary would be a lot higher. Salary during training period (usually lasts about 2-3 months) is typically half what it would be if you were operating. Top pay is currently $25.0850/hr, which comes out to $52,176.80/yr. The annual sum assumes NO overtime and NO differential. I average about $61K without working more than my five days. For the first week of training, you will be paid minimum wage for 40 hours, Starting the second week and continuing for the rest of your training AND until you work 231 days of ROAD jobs, you will be paid at the T/O entry level/yard rate, currently something like $23 and change/hr. This usually takes about 18 months after your training is complete to accomplish. Training in the A Division is a tad over 3 months; in the B Division, a little over 5 months. Once your training is done, you will be working 40+ hours a week. |
