So what?If the IBX causes property values to go up near the stations, such that small houses are replaced by more expensive multiple dwellings, then the city's property tax revenue goes up, which is good. The only issue I would have with this is if those buildings get tax abatements for "affordable housing." Of course I only support market-rate development across the board. The parking thing is a good point. The YIMBY movement wants to eliminate "parking minimums", but often they're necessary. |
