I was in summer camp in upstate New York when all that went down.In some ways, it was fortunate that the last of the R1-9 fleet was retired in the Spring, and that the Jamaica line was truncated from 168th Street to Queens Boulevard. G-d forbid if those old cars were in service that fateful night when the lights went out. |
