The one at bottom was one of the more noticeable variants. The tiles in this and six other stations - Woodhaven Boulevard, 63rd Drive, 67th Avenue and 71st-Continental Avenue on the Queens Boulevard route, and Utica Avenue, Ralph Avenue and Rockaway Avenue on the IND Fulton Street line - measured 4-5/16" x 4-5/16", with the border frame for the station name tablets 3-1/16". The 'S' on this set (as seen on the last-named station, pointing to Hopkinson Avenue) was also way different:

Compare others. This was from a section of the Elmhurst Avenue station; this was a re-tiled (and incomplete) job, with the 'S' as on the 1946-opened Broadway-East New York station before the 'EAST NY' was taken out and 'JUNCTION' put in its place:

Whereas, when originally tiled . . .

This variant at 65th Street is the same as on the High Street-Brooklyn Bridge and what was originally Broadway-Nassau Street stations (before the latter was re-tiled as "FULTON":

There seemed a slight difference in this Bronx station:

And here in Queens . . .

It appears that last one was used on the Lorimer Street station of the BMT's L line:
