The NYCTA also begins operation of a train on the IND Crosstown Line running non-stop from Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street to Roosevelt Avenue on a half hourly headway from about 9:30 AM to 3 PM. Due to low ridership this was cut to two morning trains on May 7 and discontinued about a week later.

The TA didn't seem to have luck with these super expresses. This and the NX in 1968 seemed to suffer the same fate.

I guess the Flushing Line super express was successful since it kept running.

I would presume that the super express GG caught up to its leader pretty quickly and caused the service to be slower than expected?
