My take on this has been that Hoyt Schermerhorn is hardly the most convenient of stops to originate. You didn't have many people that lived near there, it is only convenient to Culver and Fulton riders, not to anyone else in Brooklyn. With the current exception of Jay St/Boro Hall, there are no transfers outside of the IND, and that transfer didn't exist then either. My understanding was that this was on purpose too, the IND wasn't going to be near any IRT or BMT line, crossing over/under them. |
