Yes.
The truss and girders were replaced along with the roadway.
Honestly speaking,the city took a crappie way out by "rebuilding the bridge in place",rather than replacing the bridge itself.

The new bridge would have increased capacity for cars and trains alike.

March station would have been replaced with a new three track, double platform station over the bus terminal.

The amount of time it took to repair the old bridge, a brand new bridge could have been built.
The same thing applies to the Manhattan Bridge.

The MTA knows that these bridge crossings are the " What If" dreaded situation.

This could be solved by building new East River crossings...
One 4 track tube replacement for the Manhattan Bridge, and a new crossing in Williamsburg to Houston st and Essex st.

All bridge crossings would be eliminated.
