The Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges are old and need lots of TLC if not outright replacement. If the 911 terrorists took those hijacked planes to those two bridges instead of the WTC towers, the havoc caused might have been much worse. Yet, the politicians don't want to spend the money for this - nd I am willing to bet that some terrorist would jump at the chance to destroy either one or both of them. When it comes to security and being proactive, certain steps must be taken. |
