Re: Moving the (R) to Nassau Street permanently (addition)

The (R) train performance is EXACTLY why I would make this change:

Getting the (R) off Broadway and moving it to Nassau would improve things a lot. The idea of Canal being the terminal for the (R) as I would do it here was not possible prior to the work done in the late 1990's-early 2000s that eliminated the old crossover at the south end of Canal Street to allow for trains to run through the tunnel. Plus, Canal for years used to actually be a terminal for trains coming off the Williamsburg Bridge, especially pre-Christie, so its not like it could not become a terminal again (only this time coming from Bay Ridge).

Terminating the (J) at Chambers admittedly isn't ideal, but Chambers has four tracks and the (J) can terminate out of the way of the (R) in this case doing it the way I can and vice versa at Canal for the (R). Sure. it may inconvience SOME passengers specifically looking for current (R) stops in Manhattan, but this is about the overall picture in improving (R) service and essentially splitting it with the (W) with the (W) taking over as the full-time Broadway local would make much more sense to me.
