I would think more people work within walking distance of Nassau Street than those along Trinity Place, but that is not what the customer chose. The Nassau Street people prefer the IRT and the lower Manhattan workforce has shrunk drastically over the decades (forgetting Covid) due to offshoring, automation of clerical tasks, moved to midtown, Exhange Place, Downtown Brooklyn, Texas, Florida, North Carolina.I suppose people are getting off the SI Ferry and want the R at Whitehall to go to downtown Brooklyn. They do not want to walk to Bowling Green or Broad Street. |
