Re: Moving the (R) to Nassau Street permanently (addition)

And why couldn't it terminate at Broad St anyway? The line was built to accommodate both trains terminating at Broad and loop trains AND Chambers St trains AND Canal St trains.

But the whole idea is ridiculous anyway. They eliminated Nassau St trains coming out of Dekalb Ave years ago. Why? Because they were mostly empty.

When I commuted I would occasionally take an M train from Dekalb, only if it were already in the station, up to Chambers for the 4/5. And the reason I did that was that the Q was crowded and I was standing and the M was empty. Most people got off at Jay and Court too. So few people were going to Manhattan that I can see why they just canned it. I also once or twice took it the other way if I were downtown for whatever reason (probably J&R until they went belly up) and it was even more empty.
