OK, thanks - but my understanding is that the extra $500K death benefit was only a temporary benefit, which was not part of the base CBA and had an expiration date. It was renewed once, and what the MTA is now saying is that now that it's set to expire again, they'll only renew it as a benefit going forward for those who are vaccinated.I could be wrong on the facts, but if they are as I described, then the MTA would be within it's rights to not renew this benefit at all - or to renew it with new limitations, such as requiring full vaccination, in order to be eligible. I do absolutely agree, though, that if this was part of the CBA and there had been no condition attached, the MTA would have no right to unilaterally impose a new vaccination requirement. subfan |
