I am hardly an HR expert but as a layman:A provision of the CBA provides that in the event of a job related death, the estate of the employee is to be paid a defined amount. It would seem that at some point. Covid was presumed to be job related because of the conditions under which employees had to work. The unilateral termination of that benefit would seem to be a breech of contract since the vaccination was not a consideration when the cba was signed. Any changes would need to be negotiated. |
