My mother had friends who lived at about Beach 97th Street on the Jamaica Bay side. Instead of grass on their front lawn they had sand. During Hurricane Donna in 1960 there had about three feet of water in their house. Nevertheless it was fun to visit them especially with Playland so close. Thanks for the memories.
