If memory serves, the E to Far Rockaway/Rock Park kept its R/W markers on the Arnines until the end of that service in 1976. Towards the end of the extended E, Slants and R-40Ms began running this service, but I recall the prewar cars going to the ocean all the way to the service cuts.My dim childhood memories of the HH, which was an AM rush hour shuttle between Far Rock/Rock Park and Euclid Ave, had G/R markers, same as the A that ran straight through from Far Rock to 207, although the HH was almost exclusively operated with Arnines, while the A (before 1970 or so) was the domain of R-10s with an occasional R-1/9 as needed. |
