Coupled....means mechanical. All series since 1947 have had Ohio Form 5 coupler. The new series 7000s will have them too. So all rapid transit cars can be mechanically coupled. Railfans put too much into simple questions.

Same thing about streetcars. I put "whole streetcar" and people starting going into different series, flat doors, Pullman vs St. Louis.

Coupling, true, whole streetcars, false.
