On my first day with the Department of City Planning on December 31, 1973, several of us were told to throw out everything in a small closet because it had been in there a long time. We found many very old and rare transit maps and reports, many of which we split up and took home rather than throw out. They didn't even ask us to decide what we thought was worth preserving. How stupid. So it's not only the TA that engages in dumb practices. |
