According to the Jan 15th, 1916 edition of the Brooklyn Eagle (p.12), Myrtle Ave-Chambers express service would begin in 2 days, on Jan 17th, 1916. The article will answer most of your questions. The scary part of this story, not mentioned, was that Broadway Ferry shuttles would continue to turn back at Marcy Ave, until July 3rd, 1916 (official closing date). So, three lines, plus the ferry shuttle ran through Marcy Ave for almost 6 months!
