As I mentioned in another post, while the R-42 was the first car type in which all the cars in the contract were air conditioned, the last 100 R-40 slants and all 100 R-40Ms were the first air conditioned cars on the NYCTS and that’s not counting the last 10 R-38s which also had A/C. I won’t count the 10 R-17s with A/C since unlike the other cars I mentioned those cars had the A/C removed and replaced with fans. |
