It connects the local tracks of the IND Queens Line south of Queens Plaza Station with the BMT 60th Street Tunnel. This allows BMT Broadway Line Brighton Locals to operate to the IND Forest Hills Station. (In 2020 this service is provided by RT. R trains). Tuscarora Almanac – December 1, 1974 – The Book of Wrecks / Malbone Street II Brooklyn, New York New York City Transit Authority BMT Division A Franklin Avenue Shuttle train approaching Prospect Park derails and collides into the tunnel wall at Empire Boulevard. This is the same locations as the infamous Malbone Street Wreck which occurred on November 1, 1918. The switch which was under repair moved after the first truck of the leading car , 3669 passed over it. Several people were hurt. The full consist was (s) 3669-3668 and 3528-3529. Car R-32 3669 was damaged beyond repair. It is called Brewster North and is situated between Brewster and Patterson stations. It was renamed Southeast in 2003. Tuscarora Almanac - December 1, 2013 - The Book of Wrecks The Bronx, New York Metro-North Railroad Metro-North Railroad Hudson Line Train No. 8808 derails north of Spuyten Duyvil Station.
