The top photo in particular looks like an early 1970's fan trip. The 'CONEY ISLAND' type smacks of a Transign roll sign - and Transign didn't exist until 1959. Also, when the eight IND R-1's were loaned to the BMT for a few months in 1951 they had, on the top left side, a roll sign from a Triplex, thus there was no 'Sea Beach' right below the 4.EDIT: I see 'Steve B-8AVEXP' dated this top pic to Oct. 30, 1971. |
