This explanation makes sense, however I've never read about it, or heard it mentioned before. Was this platform's function ever mentioned in any newspaper articles at the time?Did the downtown E use ever use this lower level platform either exclusively or only during rush hours back in the early days (1933-39)? I've never heard of any kind of E train service to this platform either. Thanks for any info you or others can provide. |
