Most of the R-32s had a "B" superimposed over the "BB". It involved a white patch with a "B" in black. Looked crappy to be blunt. Probably the car you saw hadn't had the patch done (or a replacemtn destination roll was installed which didn't have it. I did see one car with a new roll with lowercase letter "B via 6 Avenue" (this was probably because the B was express on 6th Av in the rush hour (when it went to 168th St) and local all other times (when going to 57/6).In the opening of "Welcome Back Kotter", you see a train of R-32s southbound on the B passing "James Buchanan HS", which in real life was New Utrecht HS (IIRC). If you look closely at the below video, at about 0:13, you can see the route sign with that B patch. |
