Re: Tuscarora Dispatch No 25 / R-32 and R-38 Rollsigns

Which brings to mind Why none of the 38s were used in regular service along any Eastern division routes.
Its the same with the R40s or M.
The 40/40a/40m didn't see regular service until the GOH cars replaced the 16/30s.
The 42s and modified 40s All operated along J/Z/M routes...but the L received R40s/42s,which basically stayed there until the 143s forced out ALL the R40 cars regardless of subset,to the southern division lines.
The 38s bounced all over the place, but Never the East unless there was a situation where a set or two was needed to cover service on the M.

After GOH...the 38s became strictly IND cars again..ruling the A line until some trickled over to the C...kicking the 27/30s out, sharing the 40s and 32s.

Car assignments are strange.
Somethings are a constant, like knowing the 75ft cars will NEVER run IN SERVICE over Any Eastern division route...along with the 5 car sets of NTT cars.

Basically the east has been placed in its own subdivision with ridiculous service constrains that should have been corrected years ago..not further complicated.

In any case...thats my take.
The 32 and 42 keep chugging along at 55 and 50 Years in service...waiting for replacements.
