Is the reasoning for 34/HUD, 72/2 and 86/2 because of less of an impact on the neighborhood during construction or were there geological (schist/bedrock was so much deeper than in other spots)??

We all know Manhattan Schist is very good for a foundation to build on because it's much more stable than other types of building materials.
