With the original Siemens Charger order, the VIA order, and now the 75 additional locomotives, there are successors to all of the Genesis locomotives except the ones used on state-supported services in the northeast and mid-Atlantic (plus OK and NC), which makes one wonder what's going to happen with those...

The Metro-North dual mode procurement currently underway includes some additional design options, including higher-speed dual modes and AC/overhead wire dual modes... Perhaps Amtrak is looking to go all dual-mode for the northeast and eliminate some engine changes at WAS/PHL/NHV.
