Absolutely disagree about dual mode locomotives. If Amtrak personnel can't change engines as fast as was done in PRR days, they need retraining. There is no way buying and carting around a full HP diesel powerplant unneeded for 200-400 mile segments is more efficient than swapping engines in DC or Harrisburg.
As a part of the Long Bridge upgrade, wires should be restored at least into the former Pot Yard area as the camel's nose under the tent of electrifying RF&P to Richmond. Sent!nel98609
