They say with one tube, 25% of the trains woudl run.Sunnyside has finite capacity. On weekends, they run 8 trains per hour each way to allow for single threading, 3 Amtrak slots, 5 NJT slots. No, you cannot shove another 150,000 people on uptown PATH, and PATH does not have the cars. They are already quite loaded from JSQ and HOB. The Lincoln Tunnel can have hour long back ups inbound in the PM rush. You don't just send them "back in again". By the time they get back from wherever they went to , it would be after 7 or 8 pm. |
