I do not see how this is really any different from the fare checks that are done on the SBS buses in NYC in most of the boroughs.

Except for Staten Island where SBS fares are paid on the bus, in all of the other cases - folks simply have to show their fare tickets. Those without tickets get talked to, or have to deal with the fare checker officers. Again (except for Staten Island) there are fare ticket machines at each of the bus stops for folks to pay their fare.

I don't see why any person should have a problem - if they simply pay their fare, and show their ticket when asked.
