That's what it ended up being, but they are still operated independently. There is a crew change at the end of each territory. I also find it neat that each railroad will provide enough equipment for its part of the line, but all of that equipment is pooled for the shared route. So you end up with Tokyo metro cars in Yokohama, and vice versa. |
