Just switch the N and Q north of Canal after SAS opens. N to 96th, Q to Astoria. N and R never have to meet then. This is actually something realistic that can happen. It's almost haphazard that the Q will be the SAS train; it can just as easily be the N. Same yard access, same cars, relatively same frequency. |
