Because off-hours there is only one choice of Brighton service, but three lines down 4th Ave. Brighton at that time gets no cross-platform transfer for 6th Ave (D) service. Yet there is lots of patronage down the Brighton line. So the one line it does get should be an optimal one.If you live on the Sea Beach you get almost full-time express service up 4th Ave, with same-platform transfer option at 36th and Atlantic for 6th Ave. |
