They can't get you north/south along the waterfront.They can't get you north/south along the Manhattan waterfront either. You go in from the waterfront a few blocks, hop on the subway, and when you get out you head back to the waterfront. There can't possibly be transit from every location to every location. The East River eastern shore strikes me as a very low priority place to put new transit. |
