I've been following your post and those of the "ren" individual. While this is a forum that encourages free speech and the sharing of opinion, I'd like to clear up a few things about some of the misinformation that's been posted here over the last several hours. Hopefully, this will put the bickering to rest.

For starters, "ren" was once a member of the volunteer team where he participated in the restoration effort of TMNY's collection over the course of several months. He did a decent job with his work and was always there to learn and complete assigned tasks.

Some time ago, some credible information came into light about this individual that resulted in the team questioning his intentions in the group. After long debate, it was concluded that the individual could not be trusted with information and materials entrusted to him when he was part of the team and was dismissed from it. Said individual has indicated that already from his posting of information of museum matters. He has also reported to have also been divulged information with other individuals in order to flaunt his position in the group.

As an observation, he mentions the names of certain individuals a lot. As someone who knows these individuals on both a professional level and at a personal level, I can attest that the accusations of what those and of the individuals here labeled "The Three Stooges" have been greatly exaggerated. No one in the group has had any ill-intentions against "ren", for his dismissal from the museum was a measure to protect the museum's collection and space. It was a difficult decision made by the museum group as his contributions were also taken into account. It seems the individual's taken to post on this website solely due to the frustrations of no longer being allowed into the group.

Now, as for the museum itself, many individuals seem fixated in the fact that the institution remains today as one that's been known for years following its move to the Kingston area as a junkyard where equipment rusts away, a place where nothing ever gets done, a place where the museum's administration displays a great amount of mismanagement.

Many of these individuals who think this way do not realize (and most likely not have been paying any attention of what had been going on the last several months at the museum, nor perhaps have done any research to back up their claims that this is still the case) that this institution is no longer the one they perceive it to be. Of course, the museum will always be associated with the DECADES of mismanagement and follies that occurred under past administrators and leaders. And of course, historic vehicles have been scrapped. And the museum has always had a lack of volunteers and help as a result of these things.

But the TMNY of today is completely different - with a brand new board of trustees and a very effective leader. Over the course of the last five months, the current museum staff and its volunteers, including the names of those individuals that have been slung around by the frustrations of "ren", have completed numerous tasks and have fought with sweat, strength, and very sore limbs to complete these projects. Track tie replacement, the restoration of an R16 subway car, the revival of a 1943 Whitcomb diesel locomotive - to name a few. The museum has also made alliances with a number of groups and individuals to help and support one another, including this museum. And names like Mike Hanna have highly enjoyed the progress the museum's made in such a short amount of time - and have given the museum some support as of late. If this is not dedication and progress, then every person and institution responsible in restoring the very vintage equipment we all come to enjoy at EVERY MUSEUM AND INSTITUTION was then a waste of time.

The museum was in fact on the verge of closing and was on the verge of bankrupcy. But thanks to this new administration, with the monumental challenges they have so far overcome, the museum is now growing and thriving and things are being restored. Nothing is going anywhere. This new administration has plans for the museum that will transform its grounds and collection over the next five years - from top to bottom. No stone is going to be left unturned. The TMNY you perhaps know and have envisioned will be almost unrecognizable. Of course these changes will not happen overnight, but as the saying goes, wait and see. The picture then will indeed be a big one.

I hope this clears some of the misinformation set forth on this thread. The frustrations and grievances presented by "ren" are merely his frustrations and over-exaggerations.
