Regardless of who is at fault here, the general dysfunction going on up at TMNY is indicative of serious problems there.I dont think there are enough railfans in the Tri-State area to generate enough traffic to justify TMNY's existence. Face it, railfanning is a niche hobby. Three museums (TMNY, BERA, and NYTM) all in the same area just spread volunteer efforts and revenues thinner. I honestly think the transit cars should be sent back down to NYCTA where they can properly take care of them, and the trolleys sent to BERA, Seashore, or another museum. Bringing the museum and it's cars to a state in which the cars can run on significant amounts of trackage would take decades and millions of dollars that, lets be honest, are HIGHLY unlikely to appear. Quit dreaming and lets be practical here. Look at the BIG PICTURE. |
