That situation happened also with the MP-54s over on the LIRR. If I remember correctly, upon the arrival of the M-1s in the late 60s, there were serious bugs to be worked out. That resulted in a stay of execuition for several sets of the ancient equiptment resulting in several cancelled trains daily (over 20 on bad days) as the old trains just gave up the ghost and were crapping out left & right.As for the R-32s, it wouldn't suprise me if they were to run a set or two on the completed leg of the 2nd Ave subway. I know...wishful thinking in the extreme. |
