I think there's a misunderstadning there. I don't think the high prices are due to a tourist trap. I think the high prices are just the market-correct prices for the area/Manhattan/NYC.

I'm only concerned about the ones around the High Line in case I get hungry and/or thirsty while I'm there. Anyplace else, no big deal.
I'm sure there are many interesting restaurants near the High Line. And any other interesting restaurant is just a short bus or subway ride away. The High Line isn't that long that you can't walk it wholly between meals that you eat elsewhere in Manhattan.

I could not have cared less where the pretty young European damsels congregate, unless it means they'll be in my way.
Well then. My mistake and my apologies.
