I would assume that would be sufficient to dismiss any postmortem legal actions against her. Remember the case against Kenneth Lay of Enron. He was convicted (in a criminal case) but that conviction was vacated when he had the good sense to die during the appeal. Similarly, her estate is/will be a legal entity. However, it can be sued only for actions that the estate's executors take. The estate would be responsible for paying any debts the deceased incurred prior to her death. Perhaps, a lawyer would be able to clarify this point with knowledge. |
