Chiggers are unheard of in the northeast and are even less dangerous than ticks. Long sleeves and long pants combat almost all of the potential dangers that lurk along the ROW.The Wikipedia authors have heard of them in the northeast. And I believe I once was bitten by a bunch in the Catskills when I was doing some work in long grass. Even with long sleeves and long pants you can still get poison ivy on your hands. And you'd better be careful how you handle your dirty laundry afterwards. None of this is insurmountable, of course. |
