But they'll never stop tryin. Their using the oldest trick in the book. Make the service so shitty that no one will use it. Then the railroad says ridership is down so much, we're justified in petitioning for abandonment. Depending on who is running the MTA or who is the Gov. or the degree of influence of any North Fork politicos with juice has when this question comes to a head, that will determine the fate of the line east of Riverhead in the near futureThe MTA should look at the full Hampton Jitney busses on Rt 25 & then, with a straight face try to convince anyone who will listen that there is no railroad growth potential. If the RR had better service, HJ would be out of business. |
